Wild Rose Summer Camp is an outdoor educational camp providing children with an enthusiastic experience of the outdoors through garden, field and woodland activities along with a creative art program. Both are designed to nourish and strengthen, as well as enrich the growing child.

We acknowledge that we live on the unceded lands of the Tanana Khwt’ana, who are an active and integral part of the life and community here.

Things to Know

Drop Off / Pickup

Wild Rose Summer Camp runs two multi-aged groups: an 8-15 year old group and a 5-7 year old group.

The 8-15 year old program will run from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Children should be dropped off between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at the sign-in table on Cinnabar Road (see map). Children will be met there by camp staff and as a group will walk together to the nearby camp location. Children and staff will return to the Cinnabar table at 3:00 p.m. All children should be picked up promptly.

The 5-7 year old‘s participating in the Rose Buds should be dropped off between 9:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.at the sign-in table on Cinnabar Road (see map). Children will be met there by camp staff and as a group will walk together to the nearby camp location. Children and staff will return to the Cinnabar table at 3:00 p.m.

Promptness in drop-off and pick-up is very important to keep things running smoothly.

What your child will need to bring to camp each day

All of the following should be put into a backpack to be carried to the campsite.

  • Sack lunch
  • Snacks for morning and afternoon
  • Rain gear (coat, pants and hat)
  • Rubber boots or extra pair of shoes and dry socks
  • Sweatshirt or fleece jacket
  • Water bottle or plastic cup with name on it
  • Sun hat and/or sunscreen
  • A set of dry clothing that can stay at camp

Camp Life

Wild Rose Summer Camp surrounds children in the outdoors-running, jumping, playing games, working in mud,  and working with beautiful materials in artistic projects. Please dress your child in old clothing; tie dyeing, plant dyeing and mud construction can be very messy! We hope the weather will be warm and sunny but please provide clothing that will keep your child warm in rainy conditions.

Health Forms

The medical history form and the authorization and release form are important for parents to complete and sign. These forms can be mailed to Wild Rose Summer Camp, P.O. box 83271 Fairbanks, AK 99708 or brought on the first day of camp. These forms must be received before your child may attend camp.

Medications

Any daily prescription medication that needs to be administered during the camp program must be turned into the Camp Director each morning. All medications must be in the original container labeled with:

  • Name of child
  • Name of physician
  • Daily amount only
  • Time to be given and directions for administration
  • Name of drug
